Our focus on South America

Recognizing the vast business opportunities and entrepreneurial spirit in South America, JCESA was established by JCE as a group to navigate the complexities of different cultures, laws and regulations, political risks, and diverse views on sustainability and business ethics, inherent in overseas investments.

JCESA acts as a stable and active owner, enabling local entrepreneurs and management teams to fully develop their potential.

By applying Swedish principles for corporate governance, we ensure a harmonious integration of responsible business practices combined with local entrepreneurial spirit and expertise, fostering sustainable growth and mutual success.

How we achieve our vision

Our mission is to own and develop companies and businesses located in, or with a clear connection to, South America by partnering with local entrepreneurs and management teams, while adhering to Swedish principles of sustainability, business ethics and decentralization.

We are constantly looking for new business opportunities and through curiosity and continuous knowledge exchange, we aim to build bridges for increased collaboration and trade between countries and continents.

Core values

Sustainability

We believe that our growth and success must go hand-in-hand with the well-being of the planet and the communities we serve.

We prioritize long-term environmental and social responsibility, integrating sustainable practices and accountability into every aspect of our business.

Rather than seeking short-term gains, we focus on nurturing and growing our businesses for enduring success, while at the same time making a positive contribution to local communities.

Integrity

Adhering to the highest standards of business ethics, we promote honesty, trustworthiness, and transparency in all our dealings with business partners and other stakeholders.

We always treat people with dignity and respect, empowering employees through the delegation of responsibility and trust so that everyone feels valued and capable of making meaningful contributions.

Agility

In a constantly changing world, we prioritize agility to quickly adapt and respond to new challenges and opportunities.

We believe in the power of partnerships, allowing individual business units to operate with a high degree of autonomy while harnessing the strength of the entire group.

By working closely with local teams in a flat organizational structure characterized by open communication and inclusiveness, we foster mutual growth, knowledge exchange, and agility.

Our history

JCE has been active investing and doing business in South America in various forms since 1987, starting with Chile and then expanding to Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, and Peru.

It started with the founder of JCE, J Christer Ericsson, a well-known Swedish entrepreneur, visiting the region on numerous occasions and early recognizing the huge potential. Thereafter, the business as such was built from the ground up by our local management teams, which has been the key to success in developing the business to what it is today.

Today, JCE is owned and managed by the second generation of the Ericsson family. JCE is an international group of companies with around 5 000 employees in total.
