Hardware & Distribution is our biggest business area in terms of sales, while most employees can be found within Forest Products. In Real Estate Development, we have a small internal organization managing large projects together with external contractors and co-investors.

Our customers are primarily located in Latin America, the US, and Asia, while our suppliers are primarily from Chile, Brazil, the US, Europe, and Asia. In fact, approximately 90% of group sales are related to products manufactured on one continent and sold in another, making international trade the core of JCESA and our very wide network of both suppliers, customers, and resellers a key competitive advantage.

Hardware
& Distribution

Our companies within Hardware & Distribution act as distributors in importing and selling machinery, tools, and equipment related to forestry, gardening, agriculture, construction, and outdoor.

Products are sold both under external brands, often premium quality brands from Europe or the US, or under our own private labels. The mix of brands differs between each country, but the ambition is always to be able to offer the market the best mix of products, produced by the most competitive suppliers, with the right specifications and at the right prices.

Our overall brand portfolio includes the following main brands listed in alphabetical order, as well as several smaller brands: Baltic, Char-Broil, Cifarelli, Duraline, Gardena, Greenworks, Husqvarna, Minn Kota, Oregon, Poulan PRO, Pro-Tsuri, Rhinomec, Tekna, Toyama, Tramontina.

Our ambition is always to obtain exclusive distribution rights in either a country, state, or region. In addition, we focus hard on developing extensive service networks for after-sales support in all markets where we are active, as well as distribution in the most relevant market channels, allowing us to achieve high market shares. Furthermore, we adapt our marketing approach according to the global strategy of each brand we represent.

Our Distribution Companies

Representaciones JCE (Chile) and Nordtech (Brazil) are two multi-brand distributors whose product portfolios include a mix of both external brands and our own private labels. Husqvarna in Chile and Oregon in Brazil are two of the most important external brands for us.

Toyama’s product range includes machinery, tools, and equipment targeted at both professional and non-professional end-users. Toyama’s products are mainly manufactured by suppliers in Asia and sold throughout Latin America under the Toyama brand.

Aquabrazil imports various equipment for the recreational fishing and nautical markets, which is sold through external resellers and online all over Brazil.

Houp is a Brazilian e-commerce company selling products online from mainly Nordtech, Toyama and Aquabrazil. In Chile, we are active in e-commerce through mercadojardin.cl, a subsidiary of Representaciones JCE.

Our approach to sustainability

The electrification of our product range, adapting to a circular economy, and switching to sustainable packaging are examples of key focus areas to align our offering with increased market demand for environmentally sustainable products and processes.

At the same time, as the sheer size of our distribution business means that we employ hundreds of people across many countries, we work hard to to constantly improve in areas such as health & safety, training & competence development, as well as good corporate governance.

Forest Products

Within Forest Products, we own and operate a big industrial plant in Los Angeles in Southern Chile which includes a sawmill, a millwork, and a pellet mill.

The business is primarily focused on export products. The sawmill manufactures radiata pine lumber for the Chilean and overseas markets, which are shipped as far away as South Korea and Japan. The millwork manufactures mouldings primarily for the US market, while the pellet mill manufactures pellets for the domestic residential market. The mouldings are produced by adding further value to high-quality wood from the sawmill, while pellets are made from the sawmill’s residual wood materials.

The sawmill has a capacity of 200 000 cbm / year, the millwork 50 000 cbm / year, and the pellet mill 50 000 tons / year.

Our approach to sustainability

JCE South America Solar Panels

Wood products in all forms are made up of biodegradable fibers, and by sourcing raw material from sustainably managed FSC certified forests and offering construction products able to store CO² for a very long time, we contribute to a sustainable society.

Furthermore, high emphasis is placed on operating the plant as efficiently as possible from a sustainability perspective. We use all residual products from the sawmill to manufacture other products (such as moldings or pellets), burn them for heat and electricity, or sell them externally through fiber exchange contracts. In 2024, we inaugurated our own solar park to further increase the share of renewable energy used in the plant.

Equal to the distribution business, as the sheer size of our plant means that we employ hundreds of people, we work hard to to constantly improve in areas such as health & safety, training & competence development, as well as good corporate governance.

Our commitment to sustainable forestry

JCE owns approximately 16 000 hectares of forestland in Southern Chile. The forestlands are mostly made up of native forests, but they also include some commercial timberland.

All our forestlands are managed with a long-term perspective safeguarding sustainability and biodiversity.

Real Estate Development

Our activities within Real Estate Development are currently limited to Chile, but we have a long heritage within real estate and construction dating back to the 1990s.

Inmobiliaria JCE is a project management organization active within real estate development and investment in a wide range of real estate projects. Our project portfolio includes both detached houses (single-family homes, villas, vacation homes, gated communities), apartments, offices, building sites, and warehouse condominiums.

Projects are often executed in partnerships with other investors and placed in separate companies. Construction work is subcontracted to external contractors, on a case-by-case basis.

Our approach to sustainability

We firmly believe in the power of sustainable construction to transform not only the urban landscape, but also the quality of life of those who inhabit it. Thus, the integration of sustainable building practices and technologies is of key importance in developing future projects and marketing our products.

For example, we are currently analyzing how we can increase the wood content of our projects. Wood as a construction material can store CO2 for a very long time. Thus, by building in wood, you not only contribute to a more sustainable society, but you also achieve a more pleasant indoor climate.
